Wattpad
Product Designer • 2013–2016
During my time at Wattpad, I worked on a variety of teams in a fast-paced start-up environment. Some key areas included leading growth design, which focused on user acquisition and retention, establishing UX research within the design organization, and spearheading a standalone digital book cover creator app that grew to three million users before I left the company.

Some of my work from Wattpad
Mobile and web
I had the chance to work on a variety of web experiences and core app projects throughout my time on the team. Among the important projects were optimizing the design of the main iPad app, book library management, the user's main profile, sign up, onboarding, finding friends through social channels, notifications, and micro interactions throughout the app.
Growth design
As a Growth designer, I tested and validated designs for Wattpad's key metrics: user acquisition, retention, and content discovery. Examples of important experiments tested: how value propositions on landing pages improved signups, how suggesting followers during onboarding increased retention, and how testing interactions and metadata increased reading time. More about growth design lessons can be found on my blog.
Covers app
I led the Covers project, a hack that eventually became part of the core product. The app's goal was to assist any user who struggled with book cover designs for their stories on the platform. Covers had more than 3 million downloads and 40,000 daily users before I left the company. Along with initiating the hack, I also oversaw a design and engineering team of more than ten individuals for iOS and Android.
Watch app
The team was approached by Apple to create a companion watch app to our main app to highlight the capabilities Apple was trying to promote for their introduction of the Apple Watch in 2015. I was responsible for leading the project's design. The purpose of the app was to allow the author to monitor the performance of their works.
