As the design lead of Brex's Expenses Group, I spearheaded initiatives centred on AI, streamlining efficiency, and boosting user engagement. My role expanded to guiding the Planning Group, where I focused on optimizing budget performance and strategic setup. My tenure at Brex was further distinguished by leading cross-cutting design efforts on the UX Platform team.

At Shopify, I led the Design Systems and Extensibility teams, under the Retail Sales Channel org. My team’s missions were to enable internal and external developers to design and build the best experiences for Shopify’s merchants. My teams collaborated with feature development teams, researchers, engineers, as well as third party developers.

Individual Contributor • 2016–2020

As Staff IC, I led the design for key projects on the Payments & Hardware team. My team’s mission was to develop simple, fast, and reliable hardware products that would assist our merchants in serving their customers, accepting payments, and efficiently running their day-to-day operations. My team collaborated with external partners for manufacturing and quality assurance, as well as researchers, industrial designers, and engineers. As Senior IC, I led the design for strategic initiatives that increased seller acquisition and retention while promoting better buyer experiences.

Women’s Brain Health Initiative

Director of Design • 2020–Present

In my spare time, I volunteer at WBHI, a charitable foundation that focuses on the evidence-based Six Pillars of Brain Health to combat brain-aging diseases and emphasizes the unique risks faced by women. During my time with WBHI, I led the design of their charitable website and their student educational program, Brainable. Most recently, I designed and led the product direction for BrainFit — a habit tracking app alongside external stakeholders and the government of Canada.

Gourmet Lab

Lead Designer • 2015–2016

At Gourmet Lab, my team’s goals were to build an e-commerce web product that allowed customers to sign up, manage accounts, and pay for daily meal plans. My team’s internal objective was to build a backend interface for customer accounts and daily order management.

Wattpad

Product and Growth Designer • 2013–2016

During my time at Wattpad, I worked on a variety of teams in a fast-paced start-up environment. Some key areas included leading growth design, which focused on user acquisition and retention, establishing UX research within the design organization, and spearheading a standalone digital book cover creator app that grew to three million users before I left the company.
